‘ELEGANCE’

For the 1994 AISI summer intern project, James Fleming designed this elegant Ford Taurus class car. Using a Biomorphic Form vocabulary, he developed surfaces with a grace rarely seen in auto design. The cars profile, DLO and other details express great fluidity. The short front overhang and long rear overhang reinforces this fluidity. His A-pillar and DLO [side window graphic] are very similar to the highly successful 2006 Honda Civic coupe. This design predates it by 12 years.
